Tea for Two….

…and two for tea.

Anyone else remember that line from Full House? …little Michelle Tanner, how you were cute and somewhat annoying at the same time. haha I forget what episode that’s from…but it’s a line I remember, for whatever reason.

Anyway…afternoon everyone! I know, what is this? Afternoon posts?

I was up bright and early this morning….construction next door really left me no choice.

Even though it was slated to be a warm day (it’s 85 now), I brewed up some coffee and enjoyed along with some cold cereal that I forgot to photograph. In the words of the great Chelsea Handler, “Whoopsie!”

I compiled a list of stuff I needed from the grocery store. I knew it would be expensive…darn spices. At least they’re foodie-investments though.

Noooote my spelling error with jalapeno haha

Though the weather was decidedly summer-like…the ground told a different story. Crunch.Crunch.Crunch!

One very successful (and slightly expensive) trip to Shaw’s later…

Proudly – I only picked up two things that weren’t on my list. The butternut squash (though, it should have been) and the cheddar Babybel - nom…cheeeese. Oh, and I stocked up on Blue Cheese Laughing Cow…hahaha. Though, I didn’t get chocolate chips…they didn’t have any dark…at all. Disappointing.

With my new spice purchases (meant for a certain channa masala recipe), my spice collection officially outgrew it’s space in the cabinet…in comes the bread box.

I cleaned (maaajorly) my entire apartment, and then caught up on my Google Reader…all while munching on a Doctor Kracker Pumpkin Cheddar flatbread smothered in a wedge of …what else?… blue cheese LC. …it almost looks frosted. haha

Figures…hottest day of the week and choose hot beverages – but I also made up a pot of tea. Also…obviously where Michelle Tanner jumped into my head.

I’m off…I need to shower and get ready for dinner tonight – hence my early post. We’re heading to a lovely little restaurant (I’ve mentioned it before)…but I’ll tell you alllllllllll about it later!

Snow + Sabra

Hello, hello lovelies! How was your Thurs? Mine has absolutely flowwwn by.

This morning was glorious — got to sleep in a little (yay!) and then made myself a big ol’ latte.

I lounged for a bit, and then decided it’d be a good idea to get some errands in before it really started snowing! It literally started snowing the moment I walked out the front door — so I ran to CVS for some essentials and then to TJ’s where I picked up milk (my reason for the errand) and some of their meatless meatballs (a perk to the original errand haha).

Got home — and was hungry so I had a cheese stick (and I had another one later, too) and then I sat down with an apple to delve into 40 pages of reading that I probably should have started waaaay earlier in the week. haha

I totally dove right into my apple and then thought: PICTURE!

Hence…this photo:

I settled in and read and took notes for a few hours — and then…hungerrrr. Popcorn and Sabra fit the bill.

I settled back into my reading and note taking…but I did have time to snap a picture of the snow falling:

For dinner, I had to have a repeat of last night — I’d literally been thinking about it all day, as lame as that sounds. However this time I switched up ingredients a little and tried some new stuff…this one included the same cashews, corn, parsley (the last of my bunch), brown rice, soy sauce , sriracha and spicy peppers – but I also added a little bit of pineapple salsa and 2 meatless balls. haha

Some of the gang:

Finished product:

So right now, as I type this I’m watching the beginning of a repeat of “The Office” and I’ll be finishing up my reading — hopefully soon! and then I have a few more things to do before hittin’ the hay.

As usual…some Peanut Butter and Co. product will find its way to my mouth tonight. …probbbz some Dark Chocolate Dreams.

Hope all you lovelies are doing well! Alllllmost Friday!!

Crisis Averted!

Ahh…the blogging gods have NOT been with me lately. haha

So I sit down to write this blog…and I think “oooops left my cord downstairs…”Soo I go downstairs…no cord. ANYWHERE. I loook and loook and loook – I look in every nook, cranny, cushion, pillow, blanket, pile of dirty clothes (my room, you guessed it), crevice ….EVERYWHERE.

I go to my mom, and I’m like “Uhh, did you move a white cord??” (Aside from being the queen of soups, she is also a well-known “stuff-relocator”…and their relocation is not always in the most obvious of spots). Nope. Nadda. Gahhh, at this point…I’m ready to pull my hair out — because after all that time…I FINALLY had my cord back … and it just VANISHED.

I tried calling my bro to see if he had used it at all…no answer. I scour the house again…even bathrooms…cuz who knows…maybe I put it down in some absolutely ridiculous spot! …no, no. So I try my bro again…SUCCESS! He answers. Ask him if he used it..”Uhh, no.” — but then he asks what color it was. White. “Ohhhh…I think that’s in my car.” My thought: How the eff did it end up in YOUR car? (Actually, it wasn’t just a thought, I said it out loud… expletive omitted)

So..MYSTERY. haha I feel very Nancy Drew-esque…or what was that book…OH! Harriet the Spy… I want to know HOW the heck my cord ended up in a car that I don’t own, have not been in, my bro didn’t use…see? MYSTERY!! haha

However, luck was on my side..because my mom managed to dig up a cord from like 1992 that actually fits my camera (why couldn’t she find this 2 weeks ago?? haha wishful thinking)…

Thank you, Mommmmmy.

Let the blogging COMMENCE!

Today (Cord Crisis of 2009, aside) was a pretty run of the mill day. I don’t know..nothing out of the ordinary. I’ve started to think of the “Resolutions” for the upcoming year…I always keep myself in check…aka..it has to be realistic.

I mean…what’s the point of a “I will meet and marry [insert male {or female, whatever floats your boat} celebrity] and we will live happily ever after in his{or, again, her} mansion(s),” resolution if it won’t happen…although, it …if it did happen, it’d be nice. haha Even ones like “I will get a boyfriend in 2010″…who knows if I’ll find a boyfriend in 2010…would it be nice? yarrr!!…but that’s not a resolution..I can’t freaking control it. Why set yourself up for failure/disappointment?…Now I’m not saying not to dream…I just like to be realistic!

…oh, sorry..rant. Either way, I’ll be sharing my resolutions soon enough. It doesn’t seem like New Years Eve is almost upon us though…I feel so out of touch. haha

Upward and onward…FOOD!

The day started with some drip coffee with non-fat milk. Yummmy. I also found Pac Man in my coffee…this instantly reminded me of all the shapes that Kath finds in her coffee. :)

And yes…I used a “Mom” mug…I think this was one of those magazine drive gifts from when I was in 4th grade…I mean, I obviously saw it and just thought “MOM!!” — what are the chances?

I also enjoyed a yogurt messss. I actually toasted my sunflower seeds today. Getttttin’ fancy.

I did a lot of reading today — it was glorious. I munched on popcorn and Sabra Roasted Red Pepper Hummus while doing so. Multitasking at its finest.

Tonight, it’s just been Mom, me and the dog. I know…excitement. haha Although…I did try out a new salsa in my brown rice mess! Wahoo! I know…you can never tell what I’m gonna do next!

Seriously, this stuff is so damn good. It’s spicy and there’s the underlying sweetness of the pineapple, but every now and then you bit into a nice, big, juicy hunk of pineapple..and mannn, spicy, savory and sweet nevaahh tasted so good! It’s been my only foray into the world of the Desert Pepper Trading Company (apparently part of the El Paso Chile Company)..but if their pineapple salsa is any indication of their others…I’ll be back for more.

My best friend also gave me a wicked nice (yeah, yeah, I’m a New England girl) set of tea for Christmas. Tazo teas! Yummm. I’ve never really been a fan of plain green tea…however, it seems it was just because I was drinking the wrong kind…duh. The China Green Tips is perfect for me. I never have enjoyed the lemongrassy-minty aspect of green teas I’ve had before..but this is right up my alley. Delicate. Perfect with a little honey. :)

I’m still working on a cup of it (multiple cups have been consumed).

These little diddies came onto my radar as well…and they didn’t stand a chance.

Yum.Yum. Dark chocolate.

I hope you allllll are well!

Anyone got any killer New Years Eve plans??

Peace, Love & Munchies.

Decemburrrr

Seriously, the weather was pleasant for the month of November, but the moment the clock turned and it was officially December…BRRRR! It was 33 degrees this morning when I was walking to class, and right now it’s still only 38. Brrrrr. Ch-ch-chilly!! Luckily, I had a nice warm drink with me from the ‘bucks.

First though, I should start with last night’s dinner. Considering I ate it so late…I don’t know if it should have been considered dinner or a midnight meal! I nuked the last of the baked sweet potatoes that I had. I mashed it up, added some Sabra Chipotle Hummus, and some hot sauce. Yumm.

By the way, I was just looking at Sabra’s site and it says that they have a Cranberry and Fig Hummus?!??! Has anyone tried it????

For something a little sweet, before heading to bed…I believe it was around 12:30am at this point…I had a spoonful of honey peanut butter. :) Always hits the spot. Plus, it makes me chug a lot of water right before bed which makes my bod happ-happ-happy!

This morning, as I mentioned before, the walk to class was pretty brutal. 33 degrees…and it was windy. Rough. haha However, I made my usual stop for my skinny hazelnut latte. (I still have yet to “fix” my espresso maker) At first it tasted funny — too coffee-y for my taste, not enough hazelnut — but I think it was just because it was SO hot. As it cooled it was much more enjoyable..one, because I wasn’t scalding my mouth (always a plus!) and 2. I could taste the hazelnut.

My thumb looks awkward in that photo. haha

Anyway, I had to pick up some paperwork from one of my professors, and then I headed home — which was an equally as chilly walk, and for some reason always feels longer than my walk to school. Once I got home, I made myself a big bowl of yogurt mess: Fage Non-Fat Plain Greek Yogurt, flax, sunflower seeds and honey. I do have to say, I ran out of the honey that my family friend had harvested, and so I purchased some at the grocery store, and woah is there a difference. His was MUCH better..haha I mean, the honey I use isn’t bad, but it’s hard to go from AMAZING honey, to just plain honey. haha Once I’m done with this batch, I am going to go on the hunt for amazing stuff; it’s too bad the Copley Sq. Farmers market is finished for the season; I should have bought some there while I could!!

The rest of today is busy, busy, busy. I have a paper to write (start) for Thursday, a storyboard to draw for tomorrow…eeeeps, and a meeting tonight for my group project!! I don’t know when I’m going to get in tonight…hence my early post! I’m nervous about tomorrow — presentations…so not my thing. You wouldn’t know that I am absolutely fine singing in a chorus or in a musical in front of a large audience…but talking in front of a small group of people… terrifying!!

Stay warm everyone!! I think I’ll go make myself a cup of tea! :)

Peace, Love & Munchies.

Wintery Wednesday

Afternoon, everyone. Usually, I’d wait until tonight to post, but I’m not sure how late I’m going to be tonight. Joyyy. No. haha Well, I’ve got class and then a group meeting so we’ll see. I’m just — so frustrated with this project. Honestly, our professor has not given us the proper resources or time to, in my mind, execute an acceptable project. I don’t know…I’m also a bit of a perfectionist — soooo yeah. haha :)

Mooovin on! :) It was CHILLY this morning..bbrrrr. I wore my winter coat for the first time. This morning I took a different route to class — and stopped at a different Starbucks for my coffee. These two little boys opened the door for me; they were adorable…even if they fought over who would open the door for me. hahaha

Red cup = a good start to the day

After that, I literally HIKED up Mt. Vernon Street — oyyy, bad choice. haha If any of you are familiar with Beacon Hill you know just how steep those streets can get. I got a good little workout in, but man…next time different street. haha

When I got home from class, I made my usual yogurt mess. This time I skipped the sunflower seeds though in favor of a bit more flax (not too much, but more than I normally put in)…the more fiber the better? haha Well…too much can be bad. haha

I also made myself a big, steaming mug of green tea, and sat down to research prime time television advertising costs. haha Exciting, I know.

Lunch is quite simple (I’m trying to stick with what’s in my fridge now, so that I can get rid of everything before Turkey day so that nothing goes bad!). I’m currently noshing on a snack-sized bag of popcorn and a generous portion of Sabra Peppadew Hummus. I also have a wedge of French Onion Laughing Cow Lite waiting for me.

I also poured myself a small glass of Green Goodness by Bolthouse Farms. I actually forgot that I had poured it — it was sitting on the counter by its lonesome until I went to upload the last pic, and saw the picture of it. haha Silly me.

As you obviously know, I just love this stuff – I love that it’s…substantial. It’s not super thick like a smoothie or something, but it’s not as thin as water, milk or any type of fruit juice. (For the record, I love and drink water alllll the time, I just don’t document it). Anyway, I just love it.

Ah, so that is my day so far. I think I might shower before my night class tonight. I feel like I always show up to it looking like a scrub. haha I guess that’s the nature of a night course though.

OH! QUESTION! First off, did any of you guys watch Biggest Loser last night?? What did you think?? — Second, oes anyone know what the strap was that Rebecca was wearing on her arm? I don’t remember if she’s always worn it or not, but I noticed that she wore it home, during her 5k AND on the Jay Leno show. Just curious.

Uhp, nevermind I think I found it. I think it’s the bodybugg calorie management system armband. Makes sense. Plus, now I see that they are endorsed by BL. haha

Have a great day everyone!!

Peace, Love & Munchies!
