A Cold One

Ahh, last night’s game with my brother was a great one – but freeeeeeezing. I was not dressed for a 35 degree night at Fenway (plus wind!!)…brrr. Let’s just say that $4.25 hot chocolate is probably what kept me from hypothermia. Our seats were fantastic and it was a great game…especially because they actually won. haha

Yoouuuk

After the game, my bro and I met up with some people at Jillian’s to warm up and …imbibe.. a little. It’s his senior week. While there, I discovered just how delicious a vodka soda can be when you put both orange and lime in it. Oh the simple things. haha Yum. Oh, and ironically, the doorman was from our hometown and went to our high school – small world.

Today’s eats were pretty straight forward – no big surprises from me. Coffee (Honey Dew this time around). PB&J roll ups. A bagel thin with a layer of cream cheese. Oh…my mom’s amazing split pea soup. Nom.

  • How are you all doin??? Anything new and exciting?? I feel like I’ve been out of the loop!!

So Delicious

Evening beauties!! How’s everyone?

Today has been a relaxing day, but a productive one.

I got to sleep in, thankfully, because National Grid did work outside of my building until about 11:30 last night…we actually lost water for about a half-hour or so around 8pm, too. Fun! Of course, I literally had just put a face mask on and was ready to take it of…when, no water! haha Just my luck… :-) Luckily, I had my Brita in the fridge, and soaked a towel with it…very cold, but my face was no longer green! haha

This morning, I was excited to try something new *to me* in my coffee. I ran out of flavored syrups for my coffee, and after much unsuccessful searching, I’ve realized I’m going to have to wait to go to Target sometime aand get it. However, it made me step out of my “comfort zone” with my java.

I have long been a “follower” of So Delicious by Turtle Mountain on Twitter, and so when I saw their Hazelnut Coconut Milk Creamer, I had to try it.

I absolutely loved this!! I used only two tablespoons -just for flavor-, and the rest I kept milk – but the flavors were fantastic, and it actually made the coffee feel a little “lighter.” I will definitely get this again – and now it has me looking into all of their other stuff, too.

I also brought back an old friend: Trader Joe’s Greek Style Nonfat Yogurt! It’s that time of year – warmer weather = cooler foods (for me at least).

I worked my butt off all afternoon making a study guide for an exam tomorrow…I figured, I’m going to be tested on it in the final, too – might as well, make the mother of all study guides.

Lunch was cool, too. A wrap! Love the combo of the mixed greens and herbs, Laughing Cow cheese and the deli-style buffalo chicken breast.

Tonight, dinner was early – and easy. I got out a can of Trader Joe’s Organic Split Pea soup, and warmed it up. Meh…I’ve had this before, and I don’t remember it being as bland as this can was… I got through it, but it had very little flavor (or color for that matter…I apologize for it’s unappealing nature in the photo). Maybe I did something to it last time? or maybe I just need to (wo)man-up and make my own again. haha

Dinner was early tonight because I’m heading to an event at where Vicki Donlan, the CEO and founder of Women’s Business magazine is speaking. The event is called: Her Turn: Why it’s Time for Women to Lead in America” (which is also the title of her book, I believe).  I hope it’s inspiring and informational – I’m sure it will be.

Pre-seminar Sassiness.

Excuse the random stuff around the mirror, and my choice of pout. haha  :)

I hope you all are wonderful!! It’s inching closer to the weekend!!

Procrastination Station

Hello, hello! I hope you all are doing wonderfully…I can’t believe it’s already 7:30…eeps. I have so much to do for tomorrow!!

That being said — this’ll be a quickie!

I was up surprisingly early today — coffee chugged and errands done before 11! Nutso…and that includes having to wait 25 minutes for an train at the Fenway stop. Joy..

These dried apricots are just one of the many, many, many things I munched on throughout the afternoon…sorry, I got caught up in work and eating and less the whole taking pictures bit.

Dinner was super early because I was starving…and I just couldn’t get soup out of my head.

I present to you: Trader Joe’s Organic/Vegan Split Pea Soup avec a little spinach and hot sauce, accompanied by crispy shards of whole wheat tortilla. YUM.

My tummy is happy – but I’d be happier if I wasn’t such a good procrastinator! :)

  • Anyone else out there a master procrastinator? :-P

I hope you are all doing fabulously!! Almost Friday!! Wahooo!! :)

It's what's on the inside that counts…

Evening my lovelies! Hope you are all doin’ well! It is a wet..wet..wet..wet..WET day in Boston. Luckily, I was armed with an umbrella and my hair was kind and didn’t get all frizzy and nasty. So it was a good day. haha

I had the first day of my French class today — and gahh, I hate the fact that I have classes back to back cuz it means I have to sit towards the back of the room, and honestly, I hate sitting so far back..I just feel disconnected. Plus, I think I my brain was totally awesome and forgot every single thing that I learned last semester…oy. *hitting the books*

I had “good” luck today at Starbucks. They made my drink wrong (they always make a skinny vanilla instead of hazelnut… c’monnnn – people can order a “tripleshot.tall.soy.nonfat.nofoam.cinnamon.latte.dipped in gold” and they get it right — but “skinny.hazelnut.latte.” is too much…okay done griping), so I got 2 tall lattes for the price of one. Score! It’s not that I don’t *like* vanilla…it’s just that most of the time they make them reallllly sweet. Lucky for me, this vanilla one wasn’t…so I downed a tall skinny hazelnut and a tall skinny vanilla in about an hour. haha Needless to say I was READY!! for my last class of the day!!

I hadn’t eaten all day (just 2 lattes in the belly)…so my stomach was pretty much eating itself by the time I got home. I skeptically chose a banana that looked a little past its…uhh..prime. They always say ‘never judge a book by its cover’ …never judge a banana…oh you get it. The banana was perfect, and so yummy. Nom.Nom.Nom.

As delicious as it was…more food was necessary…in came a lovely string cheese. Love these puppies. Playing with your food is just … fun.

For lunch, I made myself a ginormous bowl of split pea soup (avec parsley).

With that bowl, I hit a huggghh jasssss milestone. I finished the soup. Wooo! haha I can’t believe I finished it before it went bad. How long did that take me? A week and a half, maybe? haha

PROOF.

I mostly vegged all afteroon — the disgusting weather (though it was wicked warm! 52!) was NOT motivating. So I accomplished….nadda. Okay that’s a lie…I looked at blogs, commented…Facebooked…Twittered. haha :-p

Dinnnaah…I felt inspired to break out my wok…love that thing! (Yay IKEA!) So I sauteed up some brown rice, corn, mixed veggie medley, soy sauce and chili paste. THIS.WAS.BOMB. So delish.

Now, I should probably get some work done. Booo. I’m so over school…not a good thing when we’re only a week into the semester…haha I just wanna play!! …obvs not realistic…so I’ll be burying my nose in books soon enough. Perhaps rewarding myself every now and then with some Dark Chocolate Dreams every now and then…mwahaha.

I hope you all are doing wonderfully, and had a good start to the week. One down…four to go! haha

Fail Whale

Evening everyone! I hope everyone had a great humpday. Mine was long…but it was good. It’ll be interesting to see how this semester goes. :)

First order of business…I want to let all of you guys know about the awesome Dentyne gum giveaway that Jenny @ Peanut Butter & Jenny is doing. SIXTY awesome pieces! You know you wannnaaaa! :)

Now, onto my eats.

I was up bright and early — due to my oh so lovely classes. So early that there wasn’t really natural light to take pictures with…oh well…I sipped on a “leftover latte” (just thought of that and I think I like it) of leftover espresso and milk & whatnot. As I sipped..I tried to get on Twitter…but nope … FAIL WHALE. Really?? That early?? I hoped that it wasn’t an omen for my day to come. haha

Other than an *almost* slip on the way to school — my cat-like reflexes came into play there and saved me…I had a dirty, black paint-chip colored hand from grabbing onto the fence next to me…but other than that I came away unscathed! — my day was anything BUT a fail whale. I’m excited about my new classes (well, the ones I had)…and they should be really interesting. Though my schedule is super hectic…and my bag weighed 19.2lbs today, and that was minus 4 books that I need…(oy, and yes, I weighed it)…I hope this’ll be a good semester.

In between a couple of classes, I hung out at the library with another cup of coffee — wasn’t really hungry — so liquid calories it was!

Once I got home, I whipped up some lunch for myself. I wanted something cold — so I decided to try cold brown rice, parsley, chopped spicy peppers, and some cranberry balsamic dressing. It was pretty good — I’d have it again, except I think I would warm up the rice just a little plump it up…but not get it really hot. The peppers were my fave part.

I lounged for a little (exhausted from lugging 20lbs 4 miles), and was hungry again…so I popped some popcorn.

Crunch.Crunch.Crunch. More lounging ensued as did shoveling a couple of unpictured cheese sticks, and a couple of spoonfuls of Cinnamon Raisin Swirl into my mouth.

For dinner, I warmed up a bowl of split pea soup — with my usual parsley garnish — and I added some red pepper flakes.

I also had a repeat of last night’s spicy sweet potato fries. They look a little crispier on the outside, but they were still nice and sweet on the inside. Nom.

I’m gonna spend the evening relaxing, doing some reading for class and thinking about a logo that I need to create for design… oy.

Hope you all are absolutely wonderful!!
