Eat Fresh

Morning all! Well, it’s almost afternoon, now, isn’t it? haha Thankfully the clouds that took up the sky earlier this morning are starting to part, and some sunshine is peaking through — but it’s still waaaay chilly out there!

I stopped by Starbucks and got my morning latte; unfortunately, I think the guy at the register didn’t hear me correctly, and I got a skinny vanilla instead of skinny hazelnut — I told the guy it was no big deal though…one, I didn’t want to be late to class, and two…not that big of a deal to me. However, in hindsight – I wish I had gotten it fixed because I realized (through lacks of sweets in my life) that some things are just “too sweet” for me now. Their sugar free vanilla syrup is one of those things. I drank about half of my drink, but ended up tossing the rest.

Though, not before getting a pic of the glorious red cup. hahahaha

Now some of you may be asking, “Jil, I thought you got an espresso maker. Why are you still buying lattes??” Well, unfortunately, after the first couple of (deliciously successful!) uses the little rubber ring that seals certain parts of my espresso maker — got burned or something. I think I may not have properly cleaned it, . I.E. I didn’t realize the rubber ring came out. The singed rubber makes for some not so tasty espresso (okay, so I never tasted it, but espresso smelled like burned rubber instead of coffee…so I assume it tasted like crap). haha I’m glad I found the source of the smell though – it’s an easy (and cheap) enough fix.  So this weekend I’m going to go find another rubber ring…I assume that I can find them at most hardware stores.

Anywho…so I stopped by DeLuca’s Market on Newbury and picked up some Nonfat Fage greek yogurt and some Naked Green Machine. A healthy part of a complete breakfast. haha I ran out of yogurt yesterday and it was a quick fix, and I also just ran out of Green Goodness. The guy who worked there was so nice; I think I was the only person in the store. If you’ve seen any of the recent pics of Katie Holmes when she was out and about in Boston, you’ve seen DeLuca’s. haha It’s just a tiny little grocery/convenience store, but they do good sandwiches and they carry some pretty stellar specialty items, too. :)

Anyway – BREAKFAST:

I’ve got a busy afternoon ahead of me, but I’m going to get some Subway (Eat Fresh!) for lunch. Yummm Veggie Delight!! haha

TGIF!! Have a great Friday everyone!!

Peace, Love & Munchies!

Shots!

As in…injections. Ouchies. haha It’s over and done with though and that’s all that matters. :)

Today I have been a bit piggish — aka I’ve eaten a lottttt. haha

Lunch, you ask? SUBWAY…woopwoop. Foot long Veggie Delight on Honey Oat….seriously the girl that made my sub…sandwich artist of the yeeeear. Seriously the prettiest and best assembled sub I’ve had from Subway in a long…no…ever It didn’t fall apart at all — even when biting into it!! Usually, they are made by people in a hurry – who don’t care – and though they taste good they look like a vegetable explosion.

I ate the first half, before my shot and the 2nd half after I got home.

Seriously! Look at how neat those layers are – you can actually decipher the lettuce from the spinach from tomatoes…etc. Girl at the Subway in Exeter, NH — you freaking rock!!

I had a little snackysnack before dinner — I didn’t eat it all …but I definitely ate all of the chocolate covered espresso beans…weakness.

Anyway, for dinnah I had a bowl of soup — or two…..

My mother is the soup queeeen. So delicious. This is made with veggie stock, tons of veggies, beans and some added chicken.

I might have snuck in a corn cake that I melted some dark chocolate chips on top of, too…see I told you lots of eats! No pics of that though…shame? or the fact that I ate it too quickly? hahahaha I’ll go with the latter.

Hope everyone’s doing well! I’m out!

Peace, Love & Munchies!!

Mini-binge

Ooops. Okay, so today wasn’t a lost cause — but I did NOT eat as well as I would have liked…my weakness for Halloween kicked in about a half hour ago. haha

Today started off innocently enough…I ended up getting a Veggie Delight on Honey Oat from Subway. I got a footlong because I intended it to be both lunch and dinner…it was just lunch. haha I was sooo hungry. That’s not too horrible though — and looking at Subway‘s nutrition info that’s still less than 500 calories for the whole sandwich — and their Honey Oat bread has 5 grams of fiber per 6″. Better than I would have expected.

I don’t have a picture of it — it was good though. Not pretty. haha. They guy who worked at the Subway literally smooshed all of it together. It tasted lovely–just it wasn’t aesthetically pleasing. haha

Have any of you guys ever seen this blog?: Fast Food: Ads vs. Reality

It’s kind of hilarious — kind of gross (just not a biiiig fan of most fast food).

Anyway, I gobbled down my sub while sitting on the floor of North Station (every bench was full!!) where a couple proceeded to passionately make out in front of me — it wasn’t GROSS making out…but just too passionate; like, I felt like they forgot they weren’t in their bedroom. It was just…too much. Plus, there were so many little kids running around…it was decently inappropriate.  ((Bitter single girl here?? haha))

I grabbed something to drink for my train ride, too.

Later on, I had a bowl (or two) of my mom’s homemade soup. There’s nothing like it in the world and it’s just sooo good. The parm on top really makes it. Now, up until this point — I’m doing well with eating.

Then came…the Milk-Duds….dun, dun, dunnnn.

IMG_2698

The picture is deceiving…I ate quite a few of those little teeeeeeny boxes. Wooooops. Oh well, when the heck do I eat candy? Oh right, barely everrr. I won’t hate myself for it…I will embrace the Milk-Duds! Just for tonight though…and no more. haha

Nighty-night, sleep tight! — and look out for that Halloween candy!! haha
